AGENDA for FEBRUARY 19, 2005
COST, COST, COST- The Solar Hydrogen economy has started to develop, but the sum of all the Solar and Wind Power installations in the world still provide less than two percent, of the energy used in the global economy. The sum of the electric power so far provided by fuel cells is in the range of ten megawatts, out of several terrawatts required. The key is low cost hydrogen production and the breakthrough may have occurred due to some deep science. Plants break up water to utilize the hydrogen in their growing processes and do so very efficiently. The chemical mechanism has recently been figured out. We may soon be able to grow our hydrogen instead of weeds. Clyde will show the paper at the meeting, bring your biochemist hats.
2004 was a significant year with the start of commercial introductions of fuel cells for home power (in Japan), UPS back up, in the US, and installations of industrial fuel cell power plants, world wide. The market is beginning. More products, more momentum!
1. Greetings and Introductions: Web Meister, Clyde Stanley, greets all attendees and asks each attendee to state their name and a short synopsis of their background and what they hope to learn by attending the meeting. 10 min.
2. Technology update: Progress on the H-HOG (mock up cad model)!

Also, progress on the AHASVC.org web site, first draft of How to build your own Solar Hydrogen Energy System now online
3. GM Sequel: This production ready vehicle design shows that a fuel cell hydrogen vehicle can be built and would be fun to drive. GM thinks they can get the cost down by 2010.
4. Sirs Presentation - On Feb 3, we did a lunch presentation to the Sirs club of Sunnyvale. The energy curves and projections made the audience aware that May you live in interesting times is soon going to be available to all of us.
5. Video- The Solar Hydrogen Economy, by HARRY BRAUN
