AGENDA for SATURDAY, MARCH 17, 2007

NOTES: Photooxidation by nanostructured @-Fe2O3 films. Sunlight and water plus nano catalyst and voila! All the hydrogen you need. Tuna Power - undersea devices that wag like the tail of a fish in fluctuating currents - hydro-generators. H2 can enhance biofuel 30%. 6% room temp hydride.

Greetings and Introductions: Chapter President, John Gotthold, greets all attendees and asks each attendee to state their name and a short synopsis of their background and what they hope to learn by attending the meeting. 10 minutes.

1. Transportation: New ZAPX, electric car. 155Mph, 325 miles per charge. Who needs gasoline? Venture One, 100 mph, 100 miles per gallon, flying on the ground. 23 operational hydrogen stations now in California. ECObus, hydrogen fuel cell bus running in Arizona. In wheel motors, will they predominate? Ford EDGE with HySeries drive. First plug in hybrid fuel cell vehicle. Now we're getting some where! Chevy VOLT gets rave reviews and generates high interest! By the end of 2007, nearly 900 fuel cell vehicles running the roads, only two hundred million to go! ZENN motors and EEstor combine for electric 500 mile car.

2. Technology Update: Methane storage. Modified corn cobs store 180 times their own volume of methane. Supramolecular complexes as photocatalysists. OGZEB Energy system. A complete Solar hydrogen house to be built at Florida State Univeristy. Everythying runs on hydrogen. Charcoal burning fuel cell!!! Waste to hydrogen, thermal chemical bio-refinery. Direct injection ethanol makes gas car as efficient as diesel.

3. Government Support for Hydrogen: Danish solid oxide fuel cells heading for production. EU endorses hydrogen combustion engine as future technology. Bush toutes Ethanol California energy efficiency, half the solution. Japan Fuel Cell EXPO 2007. SAE J2578-General fuel cell vehicle saftey standard. New apparatus for testing hydrogen fuel stations. South Africa to implement hydrogen. Hydrogen powered limousines running in Japan. New Zealand - map to the hydrogen ecomnomy. Congress - national hydrogen highway! NHA Annual Hydrogen Conference - San Antonio, Texas March 19-22. GERMANY to top the hydrogen economy? Britan proposes legal limits on carbon emissions.

4. Global Warming and Oil Depletion: China to become worlds largest Greenhouse gas emitter in 2007! China, India using HCFC-22 , less than 5% as bad as cloroflourocarbons CFC, banned by the Montreal Protocol, but in mass use the result is the same. Oil production chart, global map of all projects of 40,000 barrels per day or more- New capacity fails to boost 2006 production. Are we seeing the global peak of oil production? Berkeley professor leader in reversing climate change. GeoPowering the west! Cut off estimates.

5. Hydrogen Business: GREENTECH is the new buzzword. Honda FCX given to Q'orianka Kilcher, a young TV and movie star. Marketing ploy with celebrity endorsement.
