I guess driving is more important than eating! New Solar billionaires! Demand destruction by price! Canadian oil and gas to US. How much longer? The oil in your oatmeal - detailed study. US study of world oil peaking mitigation - doesn't mention depletion.

Greetings and Introductions: Chapter President, John Gotthold, greets all attendees and asks each attendee to state their name and a short synopsis of their background and what they hope to learn by attending the meeting. 10 minutes.

1. Oil and Gas Scramble: The term is Petrocollapse, or what happens to a global economy based on oil growth once the peak of supply passes. New fuel economy rules for SUVs. Canadian tar sands - billions being spent for very little net gain. Anything into fuel - any carbon waste can be dissolved into oil with new technology. Deep water drilling now at 30,000 feet. SOLAR REVENUE 40-50 BILLION BY 2010.

2. Government Support for Hydrogen: H2PIA - concept for the worlds first hydrogen city released in Dane. CA hydrogen highway opens tie up so independent stations with hydrogen pumps can officially join the Highway. DOE with another round of investments for on board hydrogen storage. US and India sign deal for sequestered CO2 coal hydrogen plant. UMHI (Upper Midwest Hydrogen Initiative) to build multi-fuel hydrogen highway across Midwest and Canada. US army seeking to run all non-tactical vehicles on hydrogen. Congressional H PRIZE for advances in hydrogen technology. Engineer of the year award to Tom Watson, designer of Ford Escape hybrid. DOE initiative for deep hybrid batteries for local running. Honda and Plug Power in home fueler agreement. China's King Long United Automotive introduces first hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicle. Logistics support for hydrogen - if trucks are going to run they had better run on H2. Governor Schwarzenegger - more Hydrogen Highway, One Million Solar Roofs, greenhouse gas limits, energy conservation program - maybe he is one politician who is serious about the environment and our energy future!!!

3. The Race to Hydrogen for Transport: Hybrid of the skies - fuel efficient corporate jet. Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District introduces three fuel cell buses powered with Chevron hydrogen. Nissan EFFIS fuel cell subcompact. Volvo heavy duty truck hybrids. Daimler Chrysler - first fuel cell police car.

4. Technology: 3M high temperature membrane development. Hy-drive, supplemental hydrogen for trucks. Silicon desert - biohydrogen generator on silicon. 3 new forms of piston engine, all capable of running hydrogen. Bosch tri-fuel injection system. Dana corp - improved hydrogen from natural gas method. Oxford University - bio fuel cell.

5. Global warming: San Francisco- normal rainfall 22 inches per year, 2006 ist quarter 32 inches. Have the Farallons moved to SF?
