Greetings and Introductions: Chapter President, John Gotthold, greets all attendees and asks each attendee to state their name and a short synopsis of their background and what they hope to learn by attending the meeting. 10 minutes.

1. Transportation: Ronn motor hydrogen enrichment system for over the road trucks. Honda - battery developers still trying to boost energy storage capacity by seven times and cut costs to just 2.5% of current costs for full battery cars. Production Chevy Volt, Flint engine plant. Light efficient vehicle gets 100 mpg on gas. 65 mpg Ford on sale in Europe but not here! Hydrogen injection required for ships and truck near ports. Formula Zero - racing around Europe !  GM hydrogen FC SUV gets 40 mpg equivalent. Dutch company producing electric cars, with Li-ion battery life of 125,000 miles. Mazda to mass produce hydrogen cars in five years. Co-op hydrogen stations - good idea!! Honda hides its home refueling station while it dumps gas guzzlers. Hydrogen production already could power 180 million fuel cell electric vehicles!! Iceland disses H2, switches to EV. EU cuts bio fuels target. Mazda rotary in Norway . 1 B Euro just for H2 cars.

2. Hydrogen Technology: Titanium disilicide nanonets, a catalyst for direct solar hydrogen production. Room temperature and neutral pH. Solar chimney and cooling towers for hot arid climates. Corncobs (with a splash of boron) give high capacity storage at ambient pressure. Oregon State U - new bio waste method cleans sewage and produces hydrogen. Six day no vent H2 tank! H2 bacteria. $1 to $3 per GGE is in sight. Goodbye expensive gasoline! Parallel graphene sheets, one atom thick, separated by carbon nanotubes and lithium ions are able to store up to 41 grams of H2 per liter - close to DOE's 45 g/liter. Stourbridge H2 house. 39.7% solar cell efficiency. H2 from Steel - TATA. Municipal waste H2 production - 75% less energy than electrolysis.

3. Fuel Cell Business: Dynetek - $750,000 - OEM H2 fuel tank development. China works with Canada on fuel cell tech. ITM Power update.

4. Government Support to Hydrogen: Lots of H2 meetings!! SCAQMD in Oct. H2 house design contest. Hydrogen standards still in meetings!! Global green trade summit. Danish Queen opens H2 house! Scottish H2 and FC market forecast to 2012. Third Industrial Revolution, based on internet, cell phones, and hydrogen - Rifkin. Northeast states slap on carbon cap. Bush signs renewable energy tax credits!! NHA March 30 - April 2009. Fuel cell magazine. Nuclear is now the most expensive alternative to increase power production!! Green economy to create millions of jobs. Green jobs guidebook!!

5. Global Warming and Oil Depletion: Fuel and financial crisis whipsaws airlines. Worlds CO2 emissions up to 18.5 billion tons per year. Does wind energy disrupt habitats? Rich nations’ greenhouse gases fell from 18.03 down to 18.01 billion tons per year. Whoopee!! Problem solved? Europe - north wetter, south drier - happy heat waves!! United Kingdom oil and gas to be down to half of peak by 2010 - ASPO. US with 2,955 megawatts of geo-thermal installed, 30% of world total. Shale gas cannot replace Oil!! CO2 growing at 2.2 ppm annually!

6. Outline for AHASVC Certificate: Fifth section and linking to be discussed.

7. Demonstration or Video: IER-AHASVC YouTube video to be shown. IER M-2-DEMO development to be illustrated.
