Another natural energy gathering technology is the WIND TURBINE. Unfortunately it requires land area and a constant wind resource. Wind turbines are the cheapest way to produce natural electricity so far, about 3.5 cents per kilowatt hour. Wind turbines are most effective in large sizes. General Electric is installing a three hundred foot tall 3.5 megawatt system in large wind parks all over the world. In Europe five megawatt systems are being developed. The best way to enjoy wind power is to buy it from a community co-operative or green utility that can pool resources and install a large wind turbine system on a mountain top. The utility can support the distribution to the grid and the required maintainance.
